Meet Oakley

“HIGH FIVE” Oakley is AVAILABLE for adoption!

It has been six (6) months since “High Five” Oakley was rescued.  With the GREAT team of volunteers from PALS and Lincoln County Animal Hospital, Oakley is now ready to find his “fur-ever” home.  If you are interested in adopting Oakley, please fill out a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire from the Pet List drop down menu.

Some people have asked why we call him “High Five” Oakley it is because he loves to give out high five paw shakes.

Thank you to everyone for all your help and support.  This is one of the worst cases of animal neglect PALS has ever seen.

oakley-1My name is OAKLEY. I am a yellow lab/golden retriever mixed dog, around 5-6 years old. I was rescued in the middle of winter 2014 when the temperature in Missouri was 12 degrees. I was rescued by 1 officer from Lincoln County, Missouri and 2 volunteers from Pals which is an animal rescue shelter in Lincoln County, Missouri.

I was found in a very large State Park in a creek that was frozen solid with ice. When the volunteer helped me out of the frozen creek I had been standing on cut glass that was embedded in my frozen, sullen paws. I am in a warm veterinary hospital now with food, water, loving smiles and caring eyes that are helping me get better. oakley-2PLEASE help PALS the shelter that rescued me. PALS is going to spend “between” $3,000.00 – $4,000.00 helping me. I do not know what a bank account is because after all I am a dog but I keep hearing the volunteers from PALS that come visit me say “we really do not have the money to make Oakley well but somehow WE WILL MAKE THIS WORK”.

This is the list of medical issues that must be addressed before I can find a fur-ever home:

Even with all of the neglect, pain and suffering I have incurred I am still a very sweet, loving boy.

Hugs, Kisses & a Wagging Tail,
Oakley
